I still smelled like you this morning.
I sensed your essence around my shoulders,
where your arms were last night.
When I close my eyes,
You’re here again.
Holding me with your concerned affection.
You said I seemed depressed.
If I was before,
(I’m not recalling)
I’m perfect now.
Safe in your holding.
The stars aren’t out tonight.
But your glowing kindness,
Makes up for the darkness of reality.
It always does.
Alas, as your aroma
fades from my skin,
The close feeling does as well.
But I hope,
Maybe someday,
I won’t need your essence,
Because you’ll be mine always.
And I’ll be yours.
Then every night can be starry.
